it's a bean!
wow, it's been a year?! crazy... well, it's definitely been busy, but i wanted to get back to journaling a bit because something great and exciting has happened!
look look! it's a bean!
isn't it wonderful?! we're soooo excited about this wonderful new blessing! my body's also been behaving strangely, but otherwise, not so bad these past few weeks. haven't gotten sick (yet), but my mom said she never got sick during the first trimester. it was during the 4th and 5th months that she got sick, so maybe mine's coming later too. i've had days of being tired like i've never been tired before in my life. on christmas day, i just konked out from 12nn-5pm until i had to get up for the christmas party. oh and i'm hungry all the time. to that, my friends have said, "so what's the difference from before?" :P
i've also had my first prego stupid moment. seriously, i get ditzy sometimes, but this was really bad! henry and i were at the grocery store, at the spice aisle. i was looking at all the different spices like the meat rubs, there was enchilada spice, blah blah blah. and then there was one that caught my eye cuz it looked so foreign. i thought it was middle eastern or something. so i asked henry, "what's fa-jee-ta spice?" he looked at the tiny bottle i was looking at and then he looked at me and said, "you mean, fa-hee-ta spice?" and i was adamant! "no, it says fa-jee-ta!" the husband just walked away from me, shaking his head. and then i stared at it some more and it came to me, "omg, FAJITA SPICE!"
this is such a new adventure for both of us! it's already been so emotional and nerve-wracking and irritating and happy all at the same time. but i definitely wanted to chronicle it... maybe someday the little girl or boy will read how excited we are to meet him/her. :)

quotable quotes
-
"To try is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the
greatest hazard of life is to risk nothing. The person who risks
nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He may avoid
suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change,
grow, live, and love."
~unknown
"It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues."
~ Abraham Lincoln
"live a life that others will remember years from now, NOT because it pointed to you but because of how it pointed to the One who made you."
~ Mark Hart, the Bible Geek
"we grow up learning to become self-reliant, but really we need to be God-reliant"
"we could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box"
"never wound hearts that love u, never give them the endless pain, because wounded hearts are like roses that never bloom"
"there comes a time when we have to stop loving someone not because that person has stopped loving us but because we have found out that they'd be happier if we'd let go"
