cuz i want something new to read when i visit
do you ever get on a roll with reading people's blogs, then you go to read your own and get disappointed cuz there's nothing new to read? and then you realize, oh, it's my blog. duh, it's cuz i haven't updated. i'm a ditz (is that how you spell ditz?) :\
well, since my birthday, when we got 7 boxes of shoes, we're now down to 2 boxes from that batch and we have 2 new boxes in addition. so, if you want free shoes and you're anywhere from size 5.5 to 7, you'll probably fit in at least 2 pairs of shoes. gimme a call if you wanna come by. oh, by boxes, i mean like huge balikbayan-type shipping boxes, not tiny individual shoe boxes.
in other news...
we're 19 days from the wedding. oh. my. lord. i've purposely stayed away from all of those countdown things. and every once in a while, i land on a website that's counting down for me. today, it was weather.com. i've been tracking the weather because i'm concerned about exactly what time sunset will be. at more than 10 days away, the website only displays the almanac history. so according to that, our sunset will be at 6:04pm. and that's fine, because cocktail hour starts at 6pm. i really wanted an evening wedding. originally, i wanted the ceremony to be around 5pm. that's why at first, we were thinking of doing it on thanksgiving friday. this way, the church would be available in the evening (most churches have 5pm saturday masses that are scheduled), but we didn't want people to have to leave work early, so we figured the holiday weekend would work out. well, the reception venue we wanted got booked, so we had to consider alternate days. so back to a saturday we are. anyway, it'll all work out. the ceremony's at 2pm, but the reception's definitely in the evening. pretty late start for a reception actually. but i hope that lends to the evening formal occasion that i'm hoping for. as the sun sets, the outdoor courtyard will have some simple luminarias in addition to the location's built in lighting. i think the luminarias will give a glowing warmth to the dim cocktail hour.
with the program production nearing completion, i'm also calmer this week. it helps a lot when the soon-to-be-hubs comes up from behind and gives me random hugs. i just allow the stress melt away and breathe.
oh if anyone's wondering on the attire, evening formal please. think oscar's red carpet. it's your chance to get dressed up since prom or college formals. except, it doesn't have to be poufy. unless you want it to be ;)
can't wait to see the friends and fam all dressed up!

"To try is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the
greatest hazard of life is to risk nothing. The person who risks
nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He may avoid
suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change,
grow, live, and love."
~unknown
"It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues."
~ Abraham Lincoln
"live a life that others will remember years from now, NOT because it pointed to you but because of how it pointed to the One who made you."
~ Mark Hart, the Bible Geek
"we grow up learning to become self-reliant, but really we need to be God-reliant"
"we could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box"
"never wound hearts that love u, never give them the endless pain, because wounded hearts are like roses that never bloom"
"there comes a time when we have to stop loving someone not because that person has stopped loving us but because we have found out that they'd be happier if we'd let go"
